In the journalism world and newspaper industry in Nigeria, one of the names that resonates is Onuoha Okereke Ukeh, Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, The Sun Publishing Limited, publishers of Daily Sun, Saturday Sun, Sunday Sun and Sporting Sun. He is a newspaper columnist, author and thoroughbred professional.
Born by Amaokwe Item parents, Ukeh holds a Master’s degree and Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD), in Communications Studies, from Lagos State University (LASU). He also has in his kitty a Higher National Diploma (HND) from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos; Diploma in Journalism, from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos and certificates in Transportation and Logistics from Canada Institute of Traffic and Transportation, Ontario, Canada. He also attended Pan-Atlantic University, where he did Senior Management Programme (SMP).
Before being appointed MD of The Sun, Ukeh had held senior editorial positions in the newspaper. He was Editor, Daily Sun (2013-2019); Editor, Saturday Sun (2008-2013); Deputy Editor, Daily Sun (2007-2008); Associate Editor, The Sun (2005-2007); Assistant Editor, The Sun (2003-2005).
Prior to joining The Sun in 2003, Ukeh was Editor, Daily, The Post Express (2002-2003); Metro Editor, The Post Express (2000-2002); Chief Sub-Editor, The Post Express (1996-2000); Senior Production Editor, Champion Newspapers (1995-1996) and Chief Sub-Editor, Sentinel Magazine, Kaduna (1994-1995).
Widely travelled and a strategist, Ukeh is the author of the book, The Powers That Be: Thoughts and Reflections on People, Power and Politics; Co-author, Inside the Newsroom, God’s Field Marshals and Democracy of Our Land: The Story of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.
An executive of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), he had, outside journalism, served as National Director of Public Affairs (Nigeria), The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, among others.

He is a Canada Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT)-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) and a Patron of Prince Decson Savechild Life Foundation, Nigeria and married with children.

Through hard work, tenacity and streetwise intelligence, He rose from very humble backgrounds to become the former (Nigerian Coordinator (Abuja) of the CNN/Multichoice African Journalists of the Year Awards alongside providing both editorial and commercial contents (Documentaries and reports) for CNN (Inside Africa, Market Place Africa, African African Voices), BBC, BenTv UK, Al Jazeera and DSTV Networks.
A Champion of Change and 3-time Alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Leadership in the 21st Century; Chaos, Conflicts and Courage (2010) and Expanding Impact (2011) and Leadership, Organizing and Action (2012) Programs. He holds an MA in Leading Innovation and Change from The York St, John University, Yorkshire UK and Doctorate in Business Administration from The Academy of Business Management (Now Open University Switzerland (OUS), Zurich, Switzerland alongside other Honorary Doctorate Degrees and Certificates for his respective works on Disruptive Innovation, Leadership and Disabilities.
He works on Media, Leadership Trainings and Inspirational Speaking around the world with emphasis on producing change agents in Africa and developing countries with his faculty members drawn from Harvard Centre For Public Leadership, Harvard L21 Alumni Group, Innovative Ideas Development Services Ltd and The Thinking Heads Global Group in Australia.
In 1998, Chike set up The Innovative Ideas Development Services Ltd., a management and marketing consultancy that thrives by using media content production. The firm birthed award winning series like Behind The Walls (Life Behind The Nigerian Prison Walls), Immigration and You, HomeEasy Tv, Market Place Abuja, The DBN and later NTA Electronic Yellow Pages and many more.
Since becoming paraplegic from a freak car crash in December 2006, he has devoted with a great analytical mind too, to providing consultancy, advisory and advocacy services in the disabilities, media, leadership, entertainment, events and disruptive innovation sectors through working closely with The Federal and State Governments in Nigeria, Persons With Disabilities around the world, Private and Public Organizations and a host of other International Organizations around the globe.
In 2012, he was appointed a member of the defunct FGN Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program (SURE-P) to oversee as Convener, the subcommittees on Culture and Tourism; Information and Railways respectively with a collective budget administration of over $500million.
In 2014, Chike founded the Centre For Ability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment (CARE), an NGO that protects the dignity of and promotes the CORE (Courage, Opportunity, Responsibility and Empowerment) essentials of PWDs success.
Chike is the current leader of the Persons with Disabilities in Politics, promoting Voting in Nigeria alongside leading the CARE VOICE IN NIGERIA.
Abubakar Jimoh is a Political Scientist, Public Relations Practitioner, Journalist and Seasoned Administrator. He is currently the Director, Public Affairs, National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
He is a graduate of Political Science and Political Economy from University of Ibadan, University of Lagos and Benue State University where he obtained Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Science (PhD) respectively.
He has worked in various media outfit before joining NAFDAC in 1994. As the pioneer Head of Public Relations of NAFDAC in 1994, he rose to become the first Director of Special Duties of the Agency in 2013.
As an experienced journalist, he has deployed his journalistic skills towards vital intelligence information leading to the seizures of counterfeit drugs and arrest of fake drug barons.
As a consummate Public Relations practitioner, he has nurtured and promoted NAFDAC into a household name throughout the country and across the globe.
Dr. Jimoh has contributed immensely to the upliftment of the Agency to enviable height since the inception of the Agency and has played pivotal role in the emergence of NAFDAC as one of the top regulatory Agencies in the world.
He has won several merit awards for his exemplary conduct and contribution to the healthcare delivery system in Nigeria.
He is a member of several professional associations, such as Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Nigerian Institute of Management and Nigerian Association of Political Scientists. He is also a member of Presidential Advisory Committee on the Elimination of Drug Abuse (PACEDA).
