The next five years will be crucial for international cooperation and development. One of the major challenges for the UTA will be the negotiation of a universal framework for the eradication of poverty and sustainable development for the post-2015 period.
The new framework should ensure basic living conditions, promote inclusive and sustainable growth, contribute to the sustainable management of our natural resources, ensure justice, equity and equality, and take into account the particular situation of countries in conflict; and in a situation of fragility. We will continue to defend an ambitious post-2015 framework and ensure that priorities are taken into account in all relevant bodies.
Other key priorities will include strengthening the strategic partnership with Africa. The UTA will give utmost priority to the respect of human rights, good governance and gender equality in all dialogues and assistance programs with partner countries, and will ensure that that all its policies respect and support the objectives of cooperation and sustainable development.
